Participation

The MPC Program has medical and dental practitioners and pharmacists as the target audience in the current phase. It would include other categories of health professionals in due course.

The MPC Program is run on a five-year cycle basis. Medical and dental practitioners who acquire a total of 250 credit points within the five year cycle would receive a Certificate of Satisfactory Completion of CME/CPD (CME/CPD certificate). For pharmacists, this target has been set at 125 points.

Certificates for Attending CME/CPD Activities

The certificates that practitioners submit to the CME Center should clearly state the CME Category and the credit points that may be claimed.

All accredited CME/CPD activities conducted in Kuwait are registered under the MPC Program. Activities held abroad will be considered under Category 2 unless an approved CME authority has assigned them to a category that is accepted within the scheme in Kuwait.

Reciprocal Recognition of CME Credits

The first five-year cycle of the program was from 2001 to 2006. Credit points gained during 2000/01 may be included under the academic year 2001/2002.

Practitioners who registered in the MPC Program before December 31, 2001 start their Second MPC Cycle with effect from January 01, 2007.

Practitioners who wish to attend sessions should submit applications for enrollment direct to the organizer. Each participant who satisfactorily completes the activity will receive a letter of attendance as evidence of participation, and the organizer maintains a record of the names of the participants who attended the sessions.

Exemption from CME/CPD Requirement
Trainees enrolled in approved postgraduate training programs and practitioners registered in advanced degree programs in the fields of medicine, dentistry or pharmacy may cite such activities as evidence of involvement in CME when fulfilling the CME credit requirement.
